NSFW Posts on V2

#76

I feel like those type of stuff are pretty much unstoppable on a social media platform. So they might as well add a filter for those accounts to stop being visible to people who have the filter on. And if an account doesn’t label its content as explicit or inappropriate when it is, it would get banned.

Of course there is a tendency to talk about pornography nudity etc. but what about drug use, use of weapons, violent bully behaviours, excessive swearing, etc. etc. A lot of other content could either be considered in NSFW. Not even sure how the naked form could be considered worse than somebody doing illegal drugs or illegally discharging firearms.

Pornography shouldn’t be allowed. On the previous app, though the app was only for people 17 and older, millions of children under 17 still joined the app. There were several porn accounts and it was probably so scarring for several oblivious children.

I personally liked the “this post may contain sensitive content” covers that Vine had. Maybe something similar could be used for v2 or even possible age-restrictions on certain content.

Like not even in a mean way, I’m not trying to get on v2 and see abunch of nude people like even if there is a safe mode… I’m of age, I’m personally think thats awkward, age verification isn’t complete truthful, and I couldn’t imagine a child stumbling upon something like that… it would only cause trouble for so many people. But that just my opinion.

Like a safety age?

Joke videos of someone showing their butt and artistic videos with nudity being banned or banning the creator seems like a bit much. A NSFW filter is a great idea, I think if it’s obvious pornography or something else inappropriate then I have no problem saying that content should be banned.

#83

It is not the apps job to police what kind of content the users wish to use this platform for. Having a safe mode could be a cool option for those users who want a safer environment but not everything should be terminated as many artists work can be judged as inappropriate by any on who may dislike it or feel uncomfortable by it. Not fair to the viewing audience as a whole. Freedom to post

Yea true kids shouldn’t see nsfw ■■■■■
So it shouldn’t happen because it will just cause problems

#85

Idk I think you should be able to flag something as straight up porn. I don’t want this app to have that, just because it ruins the vibe of the other creators. I remember hilarious videos that would be deleted on instagram and I don’t think those should be deleted. I think just have 5% or so of users identify a video as porn or explicit content and have a tap to load screen that identifies the video as best as it can.

I don’t think It should be allowed, It seems to me It’ll just do more bad than good. Especially since a large portion of the community is going to be made up of minors.

#87

I hope there’s a safe mode option cuz I know some v*ners who are really young kids and I wanna see them create content on V2

#88

Only good Christian vines in this household pls&thank you

#89

art should be free. to an extend. i’m not talkin porn…but nudity in art has been existing since the stoneage. i don’t know why it gets censored like crazy nowadays where we consider ourselves open minded as can be. y’all can listen to whatever destructive pornographic and degrading lyrics on the radio but dare someone daw a nipple. it’s a hilarious discussion for real.

#90

It’s okay. Just let people have their opinions. I personally feel there should be but very limited.

#91

I think v2 should be done like tumblr, with NSFW filters. Vine was great for the vineafterdark community and I still talk to people that I first connected with through there. It was sad to see that whole community picked apart in order to appease investors. It was a surprising move given how Twitter is NSFW friendly.

#92

It is not about if it will be allowed or not. It is about how it will be dealt with if it were to be allowed. If you do not want it to be allowed, then start a thread about it. Off-topic replies will be flagged.

Careful to not play with fire here. The biggest issue is minors. If minors are to freely upload sexual content of themselves, then expect a media war against this app, similar to what happened to Reddit through Anderson Cooper and Gawker, etc. Musical.ly (now TikTok) has also been made very hated for having weak responses towards minors uploading this type of content. Don’t make the same mistake with Byte.

#94

True. Even for college students this can be scarring. I remember in my university’s facebook page, the moderators (who weren’t even affiliated with the university and only cared to promote their University Primetime website) allowed porn to be posted on the page, which led to many angry responses by members of the page. No one spoke in favor of the porn. And this was in liberal California.

Agreed. Children are inevitably going to make a large portion of users. This app has the potential to not turn into another cringy app like Musical.ly (TikTok)
