NSFW Posts on V2

#30

what a good chat we had

#31

Yes I’m so glad that we clarified that nipples = bad community and insults = good community

#32

yeah, we made it clear, why did you change your profile?

#34

anyways, now I know

#35

first of all, please be nice to one another.

regarding nudity and erotica (since that seems to be the predominant question), we haven’t decided yet.

i personally don’t have a problem with it, and there is a lot of meaningful art that incorporates nudity or erotica. but it introduces problems for monitoring. identifying erotic and non-erotic work is pretty simple. even machine learning is getting good at that. identifying legality and consensuality is much more difficult and handling it even slightly incorrectly could be very problematic or harmful. we need to carefully consider these issues before making a decision.

makes sense. having the option for having people to mark their account as nsfw is good and people can filter out those results as they want. personally I have no problem with it but I’m also 20. But yes it is important to consider.

#37

Content should in fact be policied, but we need defined lines. I am all for free use of the app, go and read anything I have said on the matter, but when it comes to content blatantly violating community standards of a minimum level human decency we should prohibit it.

#38

there are porn sites for this, we don’t need this behavior here

#39

but that is my opinion, i feel like there are so many bots in the porn industry to make money off of people and this is going to be another platform to but, yeah sure people sure mark their acc as nsfw

#41

Ask the community. There are plenty of places for NSFW content, this app need not be one.

#43

My question to you is if you are so adament about this type of content why not create a similar app where you won’t have to deal with people like us who don’t appreciate that content? I mean I feel like community standards should help shape the app.

#44

WHY I DISAGREE.

There is a lot of porn on the internet especially on Tumblr which sadly, has child pornography. With adult media, there will be people easily profiting off this industry, creating spam and “sexual bots” , i know this i’ve dealt with it. Ruining the app too easily. Just look at kik. etc. Pornhub is a place for the adult instruty like content.

#46

Honestly at this point it won’t matter because people would anything on it, i don’t know if it will go through a “check” before being posted or needs to be flagged to be removed.

#47

I’m not attacking, and I apologize as rereading it I do come across that way. So my bad. I just think that V2 community should dictate the content regulations, and from the looks of it many people think that the apps should regulate NSFW content.

I do stand by my idea though. I mean there are specific sites and apps dedicated to this type of content, but I don’t think pushing that form of stuff onto this platform would be appreciated.

#48

I think considering people’s feelings is the issue here. It’s not that someone can’t handle a nipple, but someone could have endured sexual abuse in the past and a vine containing a nipple might be really hurtful or hard for that person. I think we can work to be sympathetic of folks with what we post.

#49

That’s what an unfollow button is for.

However NSFW content ends up being monitored, either through user choices of the v2 staff, I would like to see it separated into categories (possibly: profanity, gore, sexual)

I am sure there are a lot of people okay with profanity and gore but aren’t really inserted in seeing mature sexual content. Or people who are okay with profanity and sexual content but can’t stomach gore. Or any combination of the three main categories.

All I am trying to say is that options are good!

#52

Personally I don’t think this would be the best idea. Children are going to use the app too, and if nudity etc. would be allowed parents would most likely not allow/want their children using v2.

#53

I remember those NSFW or VineAfterDark contents…
Would it be possible to ban eggplant emoji?

#54

I think that’s definitely not what V2 should be about. If one wants to see pornographic content there’s plenty of dedicated websites out there. There’s a LOT of teenagers and kids who will use this app and I don’t think it’s appropriate whatsoever to potentially expose them to that. You’d have no way of verifying someone was 18+ to let them view NSFW content and then you would potentially have 11 year olds seeing pornographic material. It’s a bad thought.
