Welcome to bulletin #5, in which we update you on how test #1 went and give you some idea of what to expect in the ~near future~!
We first want to thank our industrious and creative first testers. They not only helped us find the bugs to squish, but looked like they had a lot of fun doing it. The bytes we were seeing, even with only a few features unlocked, are confirming our best hopes for what this platform will be.
There were a few hiccups, as expected, especially for some of our Android friends, but the experience has helped us improve our plan going forward. We mentioned this in a note to our testers already, but just so everyone here knows, we’re rapidly expanding our range of Android test devices so that we can catch issues quickly. We’ll also be maintaining a list of verified devices, which just means that we have a good idea that byte will work as intended on them. If a device isn’t verified, it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work, just that it either hasn’t passed or hasn’t been included in our internal QA. More on that soon.
To be honest, it doesn’t feel very good keeping this curtain around our testing, with some of you in and some of you out, so we’re REALLY excited to continue adding more of you with each test. Some of these first bugs that we found with your help are a bit involved to fix, so there will be a bit of time until the next one. Because of the wait, we’re planning on adding A LOT of new folks, along with more features. Once we have an exact date, we’ll let you know to look out for an email with your invite code.
Until next time, thanks for reading and being here with us.
